  • Sticker Paper

  • Cricut Explore or Maker machine

In this post, we will share guidelines on how to make stickers with Cricut, including the methods to use calibration via various devices. After that, we will guide you on how to turn Cricut images into stickers. You will need to walk through the guide carefully and perform the steps.

Tweak “Print then Cut” Feature to Customize Cricut Stickers

For people handling the “print then cut” project for the first time with Cricut, you must keep a few things in mind. For starters, you will need to calibrate the blade with the sensors along with the sensors that read the registration marks. Using the Cricut sticker maker is quite easy, as all the tech parts are easily sorted out and assembled for you. Here, you will need to print a test page and insert it into your machine and perform the prompts that appear on your screen.

You should know that tweaking your machine for the “Print then Cut” feature requires different instructions according to the device. But the main concern is how does calibration help in branding the stickers? The feature “Print then Cut” allows the machine to cut specifically along the edges of the printed images. Let’s see how you can create Cricut sticker ideas for the required platform.

Calibration for Windows/ Mac

Choose a platform between Windows or Mac devices, and follow the instructions.

  1. Sign in to the app “Design Space” and choose the account menu.

  2. Choose Calibration.

  3. Select the option Print then Cut feature.

  4. Now, choose the printer you would like to use, then tap on Print.

  5. Put the printed calibration sheet onto the machine mat.

  6. And put it in the top left corner of your Cricut cutting mat.

  7. Tap on the option Continue.

  8. Make sure your Cricut sticker maker is switched on.

  9. Connect your computer to the machine via Bluetooth or USB.

  10. On the next prompted screen, choose your machine from the drop-down menu.

  11. Choose the appropriate material setting.

  12. Insert the Cricut cutting mat into the machine.

  13. Click the Go button blinking on the screen.

  14. Now, your machine will begin to scan the calibration sheet for markings.

  15. Once the sheet is done, the machine will cut near the center of the sheet around the small square.

  16. Now, you need to unload the Cricut cutting mat and check if the cur touches the printed line entirely. Once you see it does, choose the option Yes in Design Space, then tap Continue to step ahead to the next step.

  17. The machine will start the calibration cut along the top side of the sheet.

  18. After it’s done, without unloading the Cricut cutting mat, look closely at the lines at the top and side of the page. There will be some who will not touch the printed lines, and others will.

  19. Cricut Design Space will now ask you to select a number and letter closest to the printed lines. Choose “Top” then “Right” dropdowns to enter the line number or letter with cuts closest to the center of the line.

  20. Once you are done, choose Continue. The machine will then confirm the cut around the rectangle appearing on the sheet. Unload the Cricut cutting mat, take out the calibration sheet, and respond to the last question in Design Space when it is done.

  21. Select the option Save & Close to save the calibration settings.

  22. Now, you are ready to use the print then cut feature in the Cricut sticker maker.

Calibration for iOS

For iOS, use the “Print and Cut” feature in the Cricut sticker maker and begin the print calibration with the help of the below steps. Also, make sure that the machine is paired with a mobile device.

  1. Sign in to the Cricut Design Space app and click the account menu.

  2. Choose “Print then Cut Calibration,” and a window will appear.

  3. Now, print out the Calibration sheet on a home printer.

  4. Tap on the “Print Sheet” option on the bottom right screen.

  5. On the next screen, it shows you a preview of the Calibration sheet. And once you have selected your printer, tap “Select Printer” and choose one from the list.

  6. Then, you need to return to the Printer Options screen and click “Print” in the upper right corner of the screen. The Calibration sheet will now print out on your home printer.

  7. Next, you can place the printed calibration sheet onto the Cricut cutting mat. Also, position it in the top left corner of the mat. Click “Continue.”

  8. Provide the material settings, insert the mat into the machine, and press the Go button.

  9. Now, the machine will begin to scan the sheet for the calibration markings. After completing, the machine will cut the small square around the corner of the sheet.

  10. Without unloading the Cricut cutting mat, check if the cut touches the line all the way around. If it does, tap on Yes in Design Space, then click Continue to step ahead to the next step.

  11. Now, the machine will begin processing the calibration cuts.

  12. After completing the cut, you have to look closely at the lines on the top and side of the page without unloading the Cricut cutting mat.

  13. Next, tap on Top and choose the number of lines for which the cut is closer. Select “Right” and then click on Continue.

  14. The machine will perform a confirmation process around the rectangle on the sheet.

  15. When the process is done, unload the mat, remove the calibration sheet, and respond to the last question. Click Yes, then click Done to save the settings and go back to the previous screen.

  16. You are ready to use the Cricut sticker maker with the Print then Cut feature.

Upload Images to Design Space

Once you have calibrated the test page with on-screen prompts and the above steps, move on to uploading images. You will also need to choose whatever you want as your Cricut sticker ideas.

  1. In Design Space, tap “upload image” and find the image you want to use.

  2. Click on the background of the image to remove it.

  3. Choose the “Save for print then cut” option and load the project.

  4. Modify the size of the image if needed.

If you need more images with one figure, you will need to repeat these steps multiple times.

Print Images with Cricut Sticker Maker’

If you need to print the designs, follow the prompts displayed on your screen. Now, you will need to toggle on the option “Bleed,” which adds a little bit of color around the image, so you don’t get a silver or white around the cut. While it is printing, the product will look a little fuzzy, but the cut will appear appropriate. ‘

You will need to make sure that the sticker paper is inserted in the correct form in the printer. After inserting the paper, position the paper and the Cricut cutting mat and continue by loading them into the machine. If you need to create labels, you will need to set the material as printable vinyl. The Cricut Explore or Cricut Maker machine (Cricut sticker maker) will find the registered marks and cut around all the stickers you are ready to use.

Now, this is how the end product with the Cricut sticker maker will come out. When I experimented with Cricut sticker ideas, they were printed out on two sets of sticker paper. However, I used them by combining them as one, which I enjoyed a quiet lot. Who says you can’t pour out your imagination in the real world? Of course, you can. If it’s a Cricut sticker maker machine, everything is possible. Now, you have a clear idea of how easy it is to upload images in Cricut and personalize your own stickers. So, why are you still waiting around on 80’s tech? Start your new journey with Cricut sticker makers.
