Kevin Feige was a pivotal presence in the Disney Investor Day presentations, which happened in December. At the event, he made a series of presentations explaining what the future holds for MCU. He explained in the presentations that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) would be iterated on small screens apart from maintaining its persona on larger screens.
However, the big revelation which came from his mouth was that Ms. Marvel would join Brie Larson in the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster film “Captain Marvel.” Yes, you read that right. Ms. Marvel is likely to team up with the titular character in Captain Marvel 2.
If you are a fan of the comics, you would already know that the two iconic superheroes have already met each other in comics.
Now, Kevin Feige has confirmed that the character will also be seen in the second Captain Marvel film. Not only that, but Feige has also said that Iman Vellani, who is also set to star in her own Disney+ series, will help lead character Carol Danvers (played by Brie Larson) in a new adventure. In addition to that, Kevin Feige also shed some light on other facets of the film, which is set to star Brie Larson in the leading role.
He first confirmed that Iman Vellani would be a part of the project, which prior to the event was just a subject of speculation. He also added that Monica Rambeau, who Carol Danvers had seen in the first film as a teenager, would be an adult in the second film, and she will be played by Teyonah Parris.
It is imperative to remind ourselves that Monica Rambeau has been several different superheroes in the comics, such as Pulsar, Spectrum, Photon, or even Captain Marvel herself. So, it is not clear what is the larger objective of her involvement.
Since the beginning of 2020, the minds of the fans have been caught up in a whirlwind, and they are barely able to pinpoint how the story of Phase 4 is going to pan out. Teyonah Parris’ announcement that she will be a part of WandaVision has added further fuel to the whole narrative.
The first product of the Marvel-Disney+ partnership, WandaVision, starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany in the leading role, is set to arrive on Disney+ later this week (January the 15th). The trailer of the series has already been revealed, and you can watch it for yourself.
The plot of the series revolves around the lead character Wanda Maximoff and Vision starting a new life together in an unfamiliar city where they begin to suspect the nature of their realities.
WandaVision will mark the first-ever Marvel television series on the platform.
Soon after that, the series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” starring Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie, is expected to arrive on the platform sometime later this year. “Loki” starring “Tom Hiddleston” is also in productions. The trailer of both of the series is available for view on YouTube.
It will perhaps be one of the busiest years for Marvel as several projects are lined up one after the other. The movie titled “The Eternals” starring Angelina Jolie is also expected to be released this year. A highly ambitious series “What If” is also expected to arrive soon, and Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) starrer She-Hulk is in the works.
